About The Position

Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Mail Clerk for our Garden City office. We're looking for hardworking, dedicated people to work in a busy office supporting the mail room. Candidates should be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, able to work independently and within a team. In this role you will complete physical and virtual mailing requests, complete drop-offs at the post office, sign and/or obtain notaries for Affirmations and Affidavits, and aid with various office services responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume postal environment
  • Strong organizational, clerical, and computer skills
  • Effective communicator and multi-tasker.
  • Tenacity to be able to work efficiently under strict high visibility deadlines.
  • The ability to lift heavy items and transport and/or guide up to 50 pounds of material on a cart.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and accountable.
  • Valid driver's license and motor vehicle are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • High volume automated document printing, production, sorting, and postage.
  • Processing and preparation of outgoing mail.
  • Electronic tracking of all outgoing mail.
  • Data entry and key mail metrics tracking.
  • Completion and delivery of outgoing requests for delivery services companies (USPS, FEDEX, etc).
  • Review of outgoing mail products to ensure proper formatting and compliance.
  • Coordination with firm legal and paralegal staff to address discrepancies.
  • Serve as courier between firm locations in the New York metro region (as needed).
