Join us as a Machinist in Ogden, UT as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life. Location Type: This is a full‑time, hourly position based onsite in Ogden, UT. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support our automation and custom‑equipment manufacturing team. This position involves approximately 80% manual machining and 20% CNC machining, with a strong focus on accuracy, craftsmanship, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proficient with precision measurement tools, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist, with exposure to CNC machining
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, manual machine operation, and precision measuring tools
  • Experience with conversational CNC programming; familiarity with Acu‑Rite MILLPWR G2 and EZTRACK preferred
  • Ability to interpret 2D CAD drawings, manipulate files, and import DXFs
  • Ability to inspect and confirm critical dimensions independently
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CMM techniques and GD&T principles (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual machining operations with a high level of precision and consistency
  • Complete conversational programming on CNC equipment; experience with Acu‑Rite MILLPWR G2 and EZTRACK controllers preferred
  • Interpret and manipulate 2D CAD files, including importing DXF files for machining
  • Collaborate with engineering and internal teams to confirm fixture setups, orientations, and critical dimensions
  • Inspect and verify critical dimensions using precision measurement tools
  • Communicate potential quality concerns clearly and promptly to management
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety procedures
  • Support machining activities as needed to meet production and project deadlines
