About The Position

The position of Machinist, Level I at Aqua-Chem will need to process components for assembly into customized clean water systems for customers domestic and around the world. Aqua-Chem is a team orientated work environment that encourages employee growth and innovation. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on occasional Fridays) Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00/hr, Dependent on Experience Benefits: Group Medical, Dental Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and Paid Sick Time. +Employer Paid Benefits: STD, LTD, Life AD&D Essential Duties: Mazatrol Matrix, M32, or Mazak Smooth control use experience is needed. Machine materials into components in accordance with company/customer requirements utilizing a variety of machining equipment. CNC Lathes and Mazak Lathes use. Drill Press, manual lathes, and manual mills use. Program CNC equipment to produce components that meet quality specifications. Operate material handling equipment (forklift/overhead crane) to maneuver parts safely into place, while facilitating and optimizing workflow. Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers and/or vernier calipers. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, and milling machines. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operation needed to fabricate products needed for production. Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space. Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with standard. Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time. Participate in root cause analysis projects and Continuous Improvement programs. Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Basic shop math and measurement skills
  • Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
  • Able to work overtime as required
  • At least 1 year fabricating in a manufacturing environment
  • Manual Mill and Lathe experience

Nice To Haves

  • Programing experience on Mazatrol Matrix or M32 control use, and/or G code, preferred.
