About The Position

OVERVIEW Cadrex is searching for a Machinist I who will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machining tools to produce precision metal and plastic parts. This entry-level role involves setting up, adjusting, and running basic machine operations while adhering to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of machining operations, tools, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic mathematical skills, including understanding measurements and tolerances
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new machining techniques and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other manual or CNC machining equipment to produce components according to specifications
  • Assist in setting up machines, selecting proper tools, and making adjustments to ensure accurate production
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a clean work environment
  • Read and understand blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine job specifications and machining requirements
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tools as needed
  • Work closely with senior machinists, engineers, and production supervisors to improve processes and troubleshoot issues
