PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to be a part of the Operations and Winston-Salem, NC Team. As the Machine Troubleshooter at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. Join us as we build the future in Manufacturing and Engineering! The person in this position troubleshoots machine malfunctions and tooling issues; conducts setups and retools assigned multiple-spindle automatic screw machines. In addition, this person performs Team Leader duties in the Team Leader's absence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to stand through an entire shift (8-12 hours).
  • Must be able to bend forward, stretching forward as needed.
  • Visual acuity to read micrometers, visually inspect small parts and adjust tooling.
  • Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds, ten (10) times throughout an entire shift.
  • Occasional lifting up to seventy-five (75) lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and troubleshoot a variety of screw machine jobs
  • Excellent quality and attendance records.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and retools assigned multiple spindle automatic screw machines to perform a wide range of rough and finish turning, facing, boring, drilling, reaming, tapping, forming, and similar machine operations.
  • Sets up and retools machines at correct feeds and speeds following standard operating procedures.
  • Receives direction from the Team Leader or Manufacturing Supervisor and works from detailed machine part prints, layouts, machine manuals, and specifications.
  • Assist operators with tooling difficulties, troubleshooting, and maintenance-related issues.
  • Identifies process issues and then applies problem-solving techniques to resolve.
  • Coordinates with the Team Leader on any machine problems that need attention.
  • Assists Team Leader in coordinating with scheduling room for any machines that will be going on setup to acquire needed tooling, prints, layouts, and gauges.
  • Performs minor maintenance and repair under the direction of the team leader or production supervisor.
  • Familiar with all secondary equipment within the Team.
  • Assists Team Leader with closing out complete orders, weighing buckets, and consolidating work.
  • Assists Team Leaders with ensuring that operators remain productive and stay busy throughout the shift.
  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, assists with training employees for achievement.
  • Detects and reports faulty machine operation, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and other unusual conditions to the Team Leader.
  • Performs other duties as required.
