This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the cleaning, storage, reassembling, testing, and maintenance of hatchery processing machinery. Train operators on proper usage of equipment during processing, making required adjustments; also performs preventive maintenance. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures. The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies. Failure to perform this job to above above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination. Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (employment gap will be increased to 18 months if applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care)
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview
  • Must be able to read, write and practice simple math skills
  • Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must agree to submit to a Security Threat Assessment (TSA)
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must use safe lifting techniques
  • Must regularly push or pull stacks of chick boxes weighing up to 125 lbs
  • Must lift chick boxes weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process
  • Insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line
  • Monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed
  • Notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Cleaning, storage, reassembling, testing, and maintenance of hatchery processing machinery
  • Train operators on proper usage of equipment during processing, making required adjustments
  • Performs preventive maintenance
  • Prepare robots and hatchery processing machinery and vaccines each morning for the day
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly
  • Troubleshoot robots and make repairs and adjustments as needed
  • Monitor chicks for uniformity of beak trim and vaccination
  • Operate robots performing beak trim and vaccination
  • Consult with roboters if there is a problem with the birds they have serviced
  • Operating a high pressure or water hose
  • Grade and toe trim chicks
  • Operate box strapper
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
