About The Position

The Machine and Laser Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the repair and refurbishment of surgical equipment, hospital beds, and therapeutic surfaces. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing machining and laser cutting operations, fabricating precision parts, and guiding a team of machinists to ensure high-quality service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including the ability to read engineering drawings, interpret dimensional callouts and tolerances, and utilize precision measurement tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of machining experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measurement tools.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, and color differentiation.
  • Fine hand manipulation and mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, and laser equipment.
  • Oversee and perform laser cutting operations to produce precision components.
  • Fabricate and modify precision parts to support repairs of surgical instruments, hospital beds, and therapeutic surfaces.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including dimensional callouts and tolerances.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units using precision instruments such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and other tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Provide daily direction, support, and coaching to machinists.
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress to meet efficiency and quality goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Follow ISO-certified quality management system processes.
  • Understand and apply Agiliti’s Quality Policy and performance metrics.
  • Identify and resolve issues that impact service delivery or product quality.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
