About The Position

Manufacturing Sciences Corporation (MSC) is a Specialty Metal Manufacturer with the ability to process & manufacture technology metals in an Environmentally Sound, Safe, and Controlled location. We have over 35 years of experience with depleted Uranium. We are the only commercial organization globally capable of casting, rolling, and machining products from depleted Uranium. The candidate should be able to make independent decisions utilizing their knowledge of operations. Familiarity with Radiation practices is a plus. The Machine Shop Foreman oversees daily operations, ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. This role involves providing guidance and working with machinists and technicians as needed throughout the shop, the ability to write machine programs, coordinating workflow, ordering tooling, and collaborating with other supervisors, Engineering, and management to achieve efficient, cost-effective manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in machining setup and programming using Fusion 360 and Solid Works, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/trainer role.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, manual machining, and blueprint reading.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Radiation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of machinists and shop personnel, providing guidance as needed.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
  • Train and mentor staff on machining techniques, machine programs, safety, and quality standards
  • Review Purchase Orders and drawings, and allocate resources effectively. Familiar with Solid Works and Fusion 360 for programming.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other equipment.
  • Monitor production for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with specifications.
  • Verify finished parts are per specification before they are submitted for final QA inspection, and for precision and adherence to tolerances.
  • Implement corrective actions when defects or deviations occur.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and repairs for machines.
  • Enforce safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized shop environment.
  • Maintain production records, inventory logs, and create Operation Routers as needed.
  • Communicate with management regarding progress, issues, and resource needs.
