About The Position

GENERAL DEFINITION: Perform a wide range of activities to include service and repair of all machines, equipment and structures in and around the site. In this role, you will work 2nd Shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • 3 - 5 years demonstrated experience in a mechanical repair environment.
  • Applied education and/or apprenticeship is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry and shop math.
  • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must be proficient in the set-up and operation of mills, drills, lathes, grinders, surface grinders, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills, mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical skills and aptitude and logical problem-solving skills necessary.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with a highly participative work system.
  • Ability to work independently in a safe and timely manner necessary.
  • Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs alone and team lift 100lbs
  • Must be open to working overtime (there are periods of mandatory and voluntary overtime)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the production team to produce superior quality materials that meet/exceed client needs.
  • This role supports the needs of manufacturing and facilities to ensure both are in top working order.
  • Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Assures correct positioning of production machines.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Properly inspect and maintain shop equipment, in accordance with OSHA regulation.
  • Installs functional and structural parts in devices or equipment.
  • Prepares new machines and production equipment for operation.
  • Follows a strict preventive maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime related repairs and maintenance.
  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts.
  • Inspects completed repairs.
