About The Position

Machine Operators play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various machinery metal converting equipment involved in the metal roofing panel bending production process. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of machinery to produce high-quality metal roofing product while meeting production deadlines. Machine Operators will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining different types of machines – Roll Formers and Trim bending or Trim Break Machines. Our Machine Operators also troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a machine operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience operating a Forklift in a production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to machine operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or certification in machine operation preferred.
  • At least two years related experience with forklift preferred.
  • Must be able to lift to 100 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb onto and off forklift, requiring agility and balance.
  • Operators may need to stand and walk for extended periods, particularly when loading/ monitoring machines.
  • Must be able to work outside in heat and other weather.
  • Reliable Transportation

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various types of machinery according to specifications and production requirements.
  • Monitor machinery during operations to ensure proper functioning and to identify any potential issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components as needed.
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate production logs and documentation of machine performance and output.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve production processes and resolve operational challenges.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
