If you have experience in slitting and rewinding or in setting up and running complex manufacturing machines, this opportunity could be for you! Industrial Converting Area Reading work order paperwork to clearly understand customer requirements Setting the machine including adding raw materials, setting blades to specific measurements, etc. to ensure material specs are achieved. Primary loading of master rolls to unwind shafts Primary removal of finished rolls from rewind shafts Cleaning or sweeping in and around equipment Packaging finished goods on skids or into boxes Training and guiding machine helpers Cutting cores Sharpening score blades Consumer Packaging Area Assisting in or primary loading of raw goods onto or into equipment Feeding sheets or rolls into packaging equipment Offloading finished cartons or boxes from equipment and packing trays or boxes Taking finished rolls from unwinds and packing into boxes Date lot stamping or labeling finished boxes Cleaning or sweeping in and around equipment Documentation of Material Usage and Labor Hours A Machine Operator is expected to keep track of his/her time spent working on an assigned job Safety Follow all safety rules and report any injuries, accidents or near-miss situations promptly to leadership. Maintain good housekeeping around work area Quality Meet or exceed the quality requirements set forth by the work order or quality parameters directed by a supervisor Physical Demands The employee will be required to stand, lift, and bend to perform the duties for 8 or more hours per day. Occasional overtime required Problem Solving Skills and Continuous Improvement The employee is required to use problem solving skills with supervisors and other employees to assure that the work order is completed in a timely manner and at the highest quality possible. The employee is encouraged to bring forward ideas for continuous improvement in the production process. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS (i.e., optional - primary contacts/interfaces internally and externally) A Machine Operator reports directly to a production supervisor. A MO will have direct interaction with a Machine Helper A MO will have some interaction with Material Handlers, Maintenance personnel, Supervisors and/or Customer Service Account Managers This job description is not intended to be all inclusive.
