The Machine Operator’s primary responsibility is to run, monitor, maintain and maintenance the manufacturing machines located at the Solutions Center. This includes and is not limited to the Steinhauer ModCenter, wire processing machines, various tabletop crimping machines, facility air compressor and dryer, 30T shear and 20T shop press.

Requirements

  • At minimum, Associate’s degree or equivalent knowledge from related experience as determined by Echo Electric.
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training in manufacturing, industrial, electrical, metal and wire processing.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Background in hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrate ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of safety practices.
  • CNC machine tool experience.
  • Experience in metal cutting, fabrication and/or metal properties.
  • Proficient with CAD software.
  • Mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including but not limited to prints.
  • Motivated individual with the ability to multitask and consistently learn.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and can easily adapt to changes in the working environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation to provide exceptional customer experience.
  • Ability to maintain flexible working hours to meet department needs.
  • Ability to work well alone, self-directed when required and work within a team environment.
  • Ability to meet work schedule deadlines.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven proficiency in data entry and 100% commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft’s suite of software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, conveying a message clearly and concisely, in written, verbal and presentation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Properly operates machines, with knowledge, safety and efficiency with focus on production output.
  • Effectively and collaboratively communicates with supporting staff for safe/efficient assistance of manufacturing requirements.
  • Manages assigned projects to meet all completion requirements.
  • Creates a daily and weekly schedule to meet requirements.
  • Inspects all material, prior to manufacturing, to ensure no defects before processing.
  • Performs inspection and diagnostic evaluations of machinery to ensure the machines are in optimal condition for operation.
  • Setup of machinery, prior to operation, to ensure proper and efficient operation as required for each specific project.
  • Loads and processes materials, through the machines, with accuracy.
  • Performs preventative maintenance before, during and after operation of machinery to maintain machine uptime.
  • Becomes proficient with the software and tools to run all machines.
  • At minimum, must demonstrate the ability to accurately use CAD software in less than 30 days.
  • Reviews all drawings and configures each machine in correspondence with each specific drawing.
  • Uses CAD software to create drawings.
  • Inspects machined/finished product to ensure compliance with drawings and high-quality standards, prior to releasing for assembly and/or packaging. Must be able to use measuring tools such as and not limited to calipers.
