ADM Spiral Manufacturing in Decatur, IL has an opening for a dedicated full-time, hourly machine operator technician. This role primarily involves operating a mostly automated machine that converts roll-stock materials into folded flat sheets, which are then used to create spiral wound filters. The position requires precision and speed, as well as a knack for on-the-fly troubleshooting, with dedicated training typically lasting six months or more to achieve efficiency. While running, the operator's job is highly repetitive, demanding constant attention. Beyond operation, the technician is expected to learn and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs (excluding energized components) on the machine. When the folding machine is not in use or requires service, the technician will be assigned to other production or maintenance tasks related to spiral wound filters or ion exchange laterals. Most work is performed indoors in a clean, climate-controlled environment, either individually or in small groups, with occasional outdoor work required. At ADM, the company focuses on unlocking the power of nature to provide global nutrition through industry-advancing innovations, a comprehensive portfolio of ingredients, and a commitment to sustainability. ADM is a global leader in human and animal nutrition and a premier agricultural origination and processing company, aiming to enrich the quality of life worldwide. The company emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, striving to attract and retain a diverse workforce and create inclusive environments where all colleagues can thrive and contribute.
