About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in manufacturing processes, ensuring products are produced to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting, as well as a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with specific machines or equipment (e.g., CNC machines, presses, grinders) is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machine operation, settings, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of machine mechanics and the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect and assess machine performance and product quality to ensure precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more). Must be able to stand for long periods and operate machinery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Specific Machines (e.g., CNC, injection molding, packaging machines, etc.)
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with production tracking software or digital machine interfaces.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions and production issues independently.
  • Forklift Certification (if applicable to the role).

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor machinery such as CNC machines, lathes, presses, or other equipment used in the manufacturing process. Ensure machines are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Monitor machine performance and product quality during the production process. Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance. Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues and report any major problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Production Monitoring: Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product quality and production efficiency. Track production rates and make adjustments to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while operating machinery. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality control checks. Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing best practices to optimize production.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff to meet production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
