About The Position

Alliance Machine & Engraving, LLC is a division of The Bradbury Group specializing in engraving and embossing equipment located in Ashland, VA, just outside of Richmond. Overview: We are seeking a Machine Builder to join our team! This position is open to people that may have prior experience in the manufacturing field as well as someone that is new to manufacturing and looking to begin a career with Alliance. Salary will be commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position. The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. There is occasional weekend work and overtime when required. Formal job training is provided. About Alliance Machine and Engraving: Our company manufactures Embossing and Calendering machinery as well as engraved rollers that are used to texture and form webs. We work with engineers, plant, and project managers from facilities across the world developing machinery and rolls for their facility. More about what we do: Think of an everyday item. The instrument panel in your car, the boards on your deck, your garage door. It probably has a pattern. How did it get there? Who designed it? Where is it made? Does it serve any function other than decoration? As with the color, shape, or raw materials used in any manufactured product - texture adds value and serves a function. We in turn provide the industry with the tools they need to impart those textures and build or maintain their brand image.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc.
  • Able to use a wide variety of tools.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires standing, bending, twisting, lifting, walking

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit machine components with the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Performance testing and quality checking of machines and tooling.
  • Drilling, tapping, and cutting components when necessary.
  • Disassembly of previously utilized machines.
  • Perform various tasks to support manufacturing when required to hit production goals.
  • Maneuver machines around the workshop floor
  • Makes customer site visits as necessary to help solve field issues.
