About The Position

Support the full-time staff of the Office of Spiritual Development by completing professional administrative tasks to enhance and fulfill the department outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Assists with a variety of event-related tasks including, but not limited to, Green Room set-up/tear-down, VIP seat management, office organizing/cleaning, guest hospitality, and errand running. Demonstrates a personable, respectful, and welcoming attitude towards all LU staff and university guests. Remains abreast of existing & emerging technologies, processes, products, services, & leading industry performance benchmarks. Works effectively as a team member, embracing & fostering LU’s mission.

Requirements

  • Team Player.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
  • Occasionally required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 25 or fewer pounds.
  • Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous event planning, hospitality, or service industry experience.
  • Significant availability on Wednesdays and Fridays is preferred.
