About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients within the behavioral health setting. This role involves working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to ensure the delivery of compassionate and effective patient care during Shift 1.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  • 0 to 3 years of practical nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral health or similar healthcare setting.
  • Experience in providing patient care and monitoring in a clinical environment.
  • Strong understanding of nursing care procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare-related software and electronic health records.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and patient care.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories, and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, helping them understand treatment plans and healthcare procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge in the field of behavioral health.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of patients, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of care.
