Coffman Engineers’ Atlanta office is seeking a dynamic, innovative, quality-oriented individual to join our team as an Electrical Engineer with zero to three years of experience. The ideal candidate should have a desire to work and grow as a team player within a multidiscipline engineering firm. This position will support our team in providing clients with diverse and technically challenging electrical, controls, and telecommunication system design for commercial, institutional, alternative energy, military, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed professional engineers and design professionals to provide training and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 0-3 of experience in electrical design, construction, or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 software & applications
  • Assist with electrical calculations such as voltage drop, ampcalc/SKM/ETAP, wire sizing, conduit sizing, transformer and equipment sizing, load calculations and energy calcs
  • Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams
  • Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight
  • Ability to research applicable codes and standards to form a basis of design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn and work with a team of professionals
  • The desire and motivation to learn the latest technologies and practices to enhance your professional career
  • Attention to detail, integrity, and personal pride in a job well done

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, EasyPower, SKM etc)
  • Experience with National Electrical Code and application to design
  • Strong knowledge or awareness of electrical engineering and /or electrical installation construction practices to build upon
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, construction background and/or work experience
