Ideal Candidates Will Possess: CT teaching certification Endorsement Codes 097 - Reading & Language Arts Consultant AND 102 - Remedial Reading & Remedial Language Arts Strong understanding of reading and writing development for the elementary grades Familiarity with current literacy research and best practices Experience including design and implementation of professional development activities through modeling, observing and providing feedback and reflection opportunities for other educators to improve instructional skills and student learning in literacy Ability and motivation to work collaboratively as a member of a team Enthusiasm for teaching and learning Ability to meet the diverse and developmental learning needs of elementary age learners Strong communication and interpersonal skills Expertise in the Science of Reading research, Right to Read Act, and Ct Approved K-3 Reading Curriculum Models Expertise in systematic approaches to providing high-quality instruction in literacy, selecting targeted support strategies, administering progress-monitoring, and analyzing the progress-monitoring data.
