About The Position

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for developing customer-focused solutions in support of Quadra’s Energy and Mining business. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring efficient and seamless bulk logistics by strengthening regional supply networks and driving continuous improvement with carriers and 3PLs. The Logistics Specialist also provides subject-matter expertise while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service for customers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field; professional designations such as CCLP or P.Log are considered strong assets
  • 7–10+ years of experience in bulk chemical logistics, including trucking, rail, and transloading operations
  • Strong proficiency with ERP and logistics systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, OTM)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound operational judgment and independently resolve complex logistics challenges
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Solid understanding of hazardous materials handling and TDG regulatory requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Established network within the South-Central U.S. bulk logistics market is an asset (and required for Senior Specialist level consideration)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day bulk liquid and dry chemical logistics operations, including handling, storage, transloading, and railcar workflows
  • Identify and resolve operational risks and inefficiencies to improve safety, reliability, and cost performance
  • Conduct site assessments with customers and partners to ensure operational readiness, capability, and compliance with safety standards
  • Leverage an established network within the South-Central and Western U.S. bulk trucking and rail transloading markets to enhance service quality and capacity
  • Evaluate, recommend, and onboard new carriers and transload partners; support commercial negotiations through data-driven insights
  • Act as the primary logistics contact for regional partners, maintaining strong communication on performance, safety, and expectations
  • Utilize KPIs and performance data to drive continuous improvement in service levels, delivery reliability, safety, and cost efficiency
  • Act as a key user of ERP and logistics systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, OTM), ensuring accuracy in orders, documentation, and inventory visibility
  • Partner with commercial teams by providing logistics expertise to support customer solutions and strengthen value propositions
  • Prepare inventory reports, cost analyses, business cases, and customer-facing presentations
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends, operational bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Champion a strong safety culture across all logistics operations and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with Responsible Distribution, TDG, and all applicable regulatory and safety requirements
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Support and mentor team members and partners on safe handling practices, SOPs, and compliance standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall customer satisfaction
