About The Position

PING, Inc., maker of PING golf equipment, is seeking a Logistics Specialist who will collaborate closely with all internal departments and domestic/international transportation partners to ensure efficient movement of goods and timely resolution of freight related exceptions. This role places strong emphasis on leveraging transportation data analytics provided by carrier partners to reduce freight spend, improve operational performance, and optimize end to end logistics processes. This position requires the candidate to reside in the Phoenix Metro Area, relocation assistance will be provided. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or similar discipline from a properly accredited college or university, plus a minimum of five years’ directly related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills with the proven ability to build consensus.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation industry, trends, carriers and pricing structures; proven ability to develop transportation models to optimize transportation costs.
  • Proven ability to represent PING’s interests and influence management in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Strong organization, time management and recordkeeping skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, comfortable working in an unstructured work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage and participate in cross-disciplinary business meetings and training sessions.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess an intermediate to advanced level of computer literacy of Microsoft Office (Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Support Supply Chain Management in global and domestic transportation carrier contract negotiations, with a focus on strategic sourcing for inbound and outbound freight across all modes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and direction for routing strategies related to ground, ocean, and air shipments.
  • Lead cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives, including but not limited to: fuel analysis, domestic surcharge management, international air spot pricing, Trade Direct Cross Border/Ocean programs, alternate port evaluations, mode and rate optimization, drayage reduction, and mitigation of demurrage exposure.
  • Maintain and oversee execution of established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) between Supply Chain and primary transportation providers, including Supplier Management processes, vendor bookings, TMS and Trade Direct Ocean workflows.
  • Conduct end to end transportation analyses to determine optimal modes for urgent or high priority shipments.
  • Coordinate with Trade Compliance to ensure carriers adhere to C TPAT protocols and all relevant security and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross functional teams by providing transportation related analytics, insights, and recommendations for strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments—such as changes in global points of origin, Teamsters and ILWU labor negotiations, U.S.–Mexico transportation dynamics, geopolitical situations—and update Supply Chain Management on potential impacts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for transportation data platforms and conduct data analysis using various tools.
  • Occasional domestic travel.
