Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Logistics Production Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will collaborate with the team and maintaining and improving processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of Process Improvement : Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • A working knowledge in Talent Management : Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.
  • A working knowledge of M anufacturing Operations : Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

  • Manufacturing experience experience in leadership within manufacturing environment
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
  • Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
  • Determines priorities and sequences jobs
  • Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
  • Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
  • Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
  • Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
  • Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others
  • Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
  • Section Value Stream Mapping
