BioSpectra is seeking a Logistics Manager to drive performance excellence by ensuring that shipments of our final products, critical materials for the bio-pharmaceutical industry, are delivered on-time across domestic and international channels, and in compliance with both stringent quality and customer requirements. The Logistics Manager will assume full responsibility for managing the end-to-end logistics process. This position is extremely hands-on and requires the individual to be very agile and capable of switching tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. This is an ideal role for an individual who has enough of the right experience, has the right stuff and aspires to taking on a high level of accountability in a critical role for BioSpectra!  The successful individual will have the ability to build strong relationships, proactively resolve problems, and continuously improve logistics processes to support customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience handling logistics in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical or related materials industries.
  • The successful candidate MUST HAVE experience and a demonstrated knowledge of international trade regulations and hazardous material shipping requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the logistics process.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Able to provide excellent communication and service to customers and managing client relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to understand, read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Demonstrated ability to use software technology and systems, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good working knowledge of, or the ability to learn, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to learn chemical properties and how BioSpectra's products are used.
  • Ability and willingness to work from all BioSpectra facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary logistics liaison for commercial teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional communication with internal teams (QA, QC, Purchasing, Commercial, Manufacturing) and external clients to support seamless order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation, including Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI), dock receipts and import documents such as TSCA.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and hazardous material shipping requirements.
  • Provide proactive updates to clients and internal teams regarding order status, ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
  • Follow up post-delivery to gather feedback and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Materials and customs paperwork, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving teams to ensure time expectations and commitments are met.
  • Collect and analyze key shipment data (e.g., freight rates, dimensions, pallet counts) to prepare accurate domestic and international shipping quotes.
  • Apply critical thinking and attention to detail to ensure cost-effective and compliant logistics solutions.
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of hazardous materials handling, including DOT, IADA and IMDG regulatory compliance, with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with domestic and international shipping agents to support reliable and cost-effective logistics operations.
  • Participate in open order realization meetings and contribute to process improvements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning about international logistics, chemical product handling, and the company’s business model.
