About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound logistical operations and transportation to ensure a sufficient supply of goods and products. The role will administer an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs, as well as our customers' needs, through efficient transportation of materials and parts.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in latest Microsoft software.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and keep track of detailed information.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping standards, codes, and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics management, supply chain management, or at least 5 years of equivalent experience in a Logistics role.
  • Both import and export knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of Trade Compliance elements (Tariff/HTS Codes, Export Classification Commodity Numbers).
  • Understand and have experience with all modes of transport for both International and domestic freight movement including Customs Brokerage.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with customers, customer agents, and suppliers to facilitate shipment of products domestically and internationally.
  • Generates shipping documents as required (Bill of Lading, Airway Bill, Country of Origin, Commercial Invoice, USMCA Certificates, etc.)
  • Creates Certificates of Conformance and obtains local government stamping as needed.
  • Selecting appropriate transportation methods and ensuring efficient and cost-effective shipping.
  • Supports order execution by performing SAP entries as required, including Shipping and Invoicing transactions.
  • Communicating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensures order documentation and checklists are in place prior to invoicing of orders.
  • Help develop and maintain regional carrier sourcing strategies across various modes of transport (FTL, LTL, FTL, Airfreight and Parcel)
  • Responsible for Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) filing through the US Customs and Border Protection portal.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities as required.
  • Takes photos of outbound international shipments for record retention.
  • Identifying and resolving logistical issues, such as delays, damage, or shortages, and implementing preventative measures.
