About The Position
The Baillie Group's Smyrna, NY sawmill is hiring for a hardwood log scaler / equipment operator. This is a great opportunity for an individual with prior scaling and/or log grading experience and experience operating heavy equipment. This person would be identifying log type, grade and scaling logs, as well as operating equipment. This is a full-time opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year experience scaling logs
- Heavy equipment operation experience - specifically front end loader
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality
Responsibilities
- Identify log types
- Grade and scale logs
- Operate heavy equipment and other equipment as needed
- Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment
