About The Position

The Lodging Maintenance Technician assists the Lodging Maintenance Manager with all Schweitzer operated lodging maintenance tasks. Facilities include the rooms within the Selkirk Lodge, White Pine Lodge, Humbird Hotel, and contracted homes and condominiums in the Schweitzer rental program. This position supports front desk, housekeeping, and owner services department to complete repairs and projects.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license insurable by Schweitzer.
  • Handyman type maintenance skills (drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC).
  • Comfortable using computers and experience with SMS Host, Onity, Computers, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours.
  • Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally; may lift up to 100lbs with assistance if needed.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with a positive attitude, patience, confidence, and initiative.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and guest service skills, a solid work ethic, and is detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
  • High School Diploma.
  • English reading, writing, and communication are required.
  • At least one year of maintenance experience in a hotel or property management capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and repairs on guest rooms, common areas, and facilities to ensure everything is in safe working order.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff to minimize downtime and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment, following safety protocols.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks and preventive maintenance such as snow removal, landscaping, and scheduled equipment servicing.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision and solve problems.
  • Reports to the Lodging Maintenance Manager and work with other departments as needed.
  • Be responsible for overall service experience, inspire a service culture to deliver a quality experience.
