The Loan Review Specialist is responsible for performing independent reviews of the bank's loan portfolio to ensure that loans are in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and sound credit standards. The role involves analyzing credit risk, assessing loan documentation, and identifying potential issues that could affect the bank’s financial stability. This position supports the bank’s credit risk management efforts by providing insights to senior management and assisting with the preparation of reports for audits and regulatory reviews.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in credit risk management, loan review, underwriting, or related banking functions.
  • Experience in analyzing commercial, consumer, or mortgage loan portfolios, including loan documentation, credit risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, Dodd-Frank Act, Basel III) and credit risk management practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, credit reports, and loan documentation to assess creditworthiness and risk.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple reviews simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and experience with loan review or credit risk management software (e.g., Moody’s, Fiserv, or similar systems) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively to senior management.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Risk Professional (CRP) or Certified Credit Analyst (CCA) are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and experience with loan review or credit risk management software (e.g., Moody’s, Fiserv, or similar systems) is a plus.
