About The Position

To assist the credit union in achieving its mission statement: “PFCU WILL DELIVER FINANCIAL WELL-BEING WITH VALUE, CONVENIENCE AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE”. For receiving, reviewing, auditing and disbursing loan applications through the PFCU Lending Program. Processes approved loans and sets up date and time to close the loan and make disbursements. To provide information and assistance to auto dealerships, retail establishments, third party vendors and members as required. Acts as a representative of PFCU with our business partners. Support, model & adhere to PFCU’s Service Standards as outlined in My MARC. This is a hybrid position with a requirement to report to the Portland PFCU Branch in person.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) year experience as a Loan Member Service Pro at PFCU or Consumer Lending Processor, Indirect Lending Processor or Universal Employee.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, members, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the capability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to creatively structure good performing loans within PFCU policies and procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of lending policies and procedures.
  • Able to make decisions and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with auto dealers, third party vendors, and others to obtain the information necessary to complete and fund auto loan approvals, and other types of loans as appropriate.
  • Verify all stipulations of approval are met prior to disbursement and follow up on unfunded loans.
  • Understand and be able to read and interpret credit bureaus.
  • Process pending online and in branch membership applications.
  • Obtain, verify and complete paperwork related to loan which may include title application, insurance documents, check stubs, etc. with an emphasis on accuracy, legitimacy and completeness of required documentation.
  • Responsible for the timely processing of loan/membership applications.
  • Ensures that loan/member files contain documents with proper documents, signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
  • Process all post-disbursal modifications to loans in servicing, including adjustments to rate, amount and term, as well as insurance, warranty and GAP modifications.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of CU lending policy and interest rates and be capable of discussing various loans alternatives with members. Recommend/preapprove loan steals and new or increased lines of credit.
  • Send out Adverse Actions.
  • Answer all incoming phone calls and making outbound calls in a polite and professional manner.
  • Answer questions and resolve issues by finding creative ways to negotiate the completion of the loan in a way that facilitates a smooth transition between dealer, the credit union and the member.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of loan procedures and policies. Uses office computer for data input and other activities (scanning docs).
  • Prepare and mail information packets and letters.
  • Reconcile daily funding report to ensure all loans have been created in core system.
  • Implement new changes in daily production with minimal error rate.
  • Maintains on-going communication with supervisor, informing individual of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes and other important information within the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long term objectives.
  • Seek training opportunities to develop or enhance through training, conferences, reading etc. Willingly participate in and attend educational functions and meetings as requested by management
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Follows regulatory and policy compliance requirements which would include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Red Flag and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, and other compliance related policies.
  • This position requires maintaining confidentiality with regard to non-public information about our members, employees and the Credit Union. We must protect the confidentiality of member information. Financial transactions are confidential and private. With account access, employees are to handle member information responsibly and confidentially.
