About The Position

Implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center Work closely with network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and additional system administrators, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer Work with system engineers and Senior system administrators to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers to conduct on-going vulnerability scanning and system patching, as necessary, to reduce cybersecurity risks Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations Work with Senior system administrators to develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation Ensure system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements Focus on creating, upgrading, managing and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or science discipline preferred
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+) required
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance
  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Responsibilities

  • Salary: $110,000 - 130,000
  • Salary rates for this position are competitive and commensurate with experience and industry standards.
