About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled and resourceful Linux & Cloud Application Support Specialist to join our Operations, Maintenance & Sustainment (OM&S) team. You'll play a crucial role in keeping our PaaS platform, Bessemer , running smoothly for a growing base of customers. This is a hands-on role where your ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize live cloud environments will have a direct impact on mission success. Our platform spans multiple cloud environments — AWS, Azure, and OpenStack — and we work with a wide variety of technologies. You’ll have the autonomy to own your work while collaborating with a supportive team that values knowledge-sharing, kindness, and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Polygraph within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with virtual machines
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or OpenStack)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with Ansible or other configuration management tools
  • Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine system maintenance
  • Investigate and resolve live system issues
  • Deploy our platform in new environments as needed
  • Work directly with customers to solve problems and implement requested configurations
  • Proactively identify improvements and automate recurring tasks
  • Research, propose, and implement technical solutions to support evolving customer needs
