This position pays $36.00 per hour! As the Lineman, here’s the work you’ll do: Does skilled manual work at the journeyman level, installing, altering, repairing and maintaining high and low voltage electric distribution systems tie lines and tape. Installs, maintains and repairs pole-top and /or underground transmission lines, building service lines, communications systems, fire alarm systems, series lighting circuits, switchboards, circuit breakers, delays, substations, transformer banks and miscellaneous switch gear. Estimates and requisitions supplies as authorized. Tests static grounds for continuity using megohmmeter. Follows training when work requires collection, transporting, storing, treating, disposing and/or otherwise handling of hazardous waste and its related documentation. After completion of jobs tasks, responsible for cleaning up work site. Maintains segregation of contaminated/hazardous waste used in area of responsibility in accordance with prescribed procedures. Receive training as outlined in Company’s Hazardous Waste Training Program.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate bucket and line truck.
  • Physical ability to climb pole and make necessary instillations and repairs.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools to be used in repair and maintenance job tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings and oral instructions.
  • Ability to keep records of work activities.
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years at Journey Level work experience.
