About The Position

The St. James Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join its culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. This role requires a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests and fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.
Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities

Prepare all foods for daily service in accordance with seasonal menus and health/sanitation guidelines.
Cook hot and cold food products accurately and efficiently.
Assist in food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.
Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
Address guest complaints and problems professionally to ensure satisfaction.
