About The Position

High Flying Foods is redefining airport dining by partnering with local restaurants and chefs to bring authentic, locally inspired dining to travelers across over 40 locations in seven international airports. They are growing rapidly and seek motivated individuals passionate about exceptional food and service. The company is looking for a skilled Line Cook at the New Belgium Brewing Restaurant in Denver International Airport to join a dynamic and positive team. The role involves maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence, and is suitable for individuals passionate about hospitality, who enjoy fast-paced environments, and are foodies at heart.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working as a line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and managers
  • Ability to memorize and follow recipes, accurately measure ingredients, and adhere to food preparation guidelines
  • Demonstrated skill in knife handling and proficiency with kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices
  • A valid Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain during training as required by law)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and kneel for duration of shift
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting while ensuring high-quality results

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate food to order according to our recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Follow safety protocols and kitchen practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
  • Set up and maintain an organized, clean kitchen station daily, ensuring all ingredients, tools, and equipment are stocked and ready for service.
  • Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain the quality and freshness of our products.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Complete prep lists and other kitchen checklists to ensure all tasks are handled before service begins.
  • Execute cleaning duties as assigned to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Communicate with the manager at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure smooth operations and that all tasks are completed.
  • Perform any other tasks as required to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
