About The Position

The kichen staff are assigned to their specific places in the line and ensure that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with standardized recipes so food quality requirements are met and maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in full service or institutional food service environment
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel
  • Skilled at cooking commensurate with level of experience
  • Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Willingness to learn and grow in food service abilities
  • Mature in judgment and behavior
  • Organization, cooperation, and time management skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, and possible overtime
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and wipe
  • Able to carry trays or supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Good vision, reading ability, wrist movements, and physical feeling to operate food service equipment

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food and maintains sanitation standards
  • Ensures the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked
  • Follows instructions of lead or chef
  • Makes sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
  • Cleans prep areas and takes care of leftovers
  • Stocks inventory and supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
