About The Position

The Line 2 Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting business plan goals, ensuring efficient operations through effective manpower planning and resource allocation, and providing leadership and guidance to the department. Key duties include problem-solving operational issues related to quality, safety, finance, and associate relations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing new model activities. The role also involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining professional communication with customers and associates, managing projects, and developing staff. The Assistant Manager monitors safety results, anticipates and prevents problems, acts as a role model, achieves daily production targets, and continuously improves departmental activities. Additionally, the position requires completing daily and monthly reports, communicating effectively with peers and other Assistant Managers, enforcing company and safety policies, participating in disciplinary actions, interviewing candidates, and supporting daily company production and projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a warehouse management environment or other management areas.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating teams in manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Able to interact professionally within the company with our customers and associates.
  • Able to lead project teams and present information to management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, Holidays, weekends or overtime as needed.
  • Computer skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Be actively supportive of the Associate Training Program and NC Circle Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-high school education (2- or 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business or related field) or equivalent experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support business plan goals; develop and monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Ensure appropriate manpower planning and budgeting for efficient operations are in place and required resources are available to meet customer and corporate requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all members of the department.
  • Solve problems and resolve issues and concerns that impact operational performance (quality, safety, finance, associate relations).
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Manage departmental new model activities.
  • Maintain all regulatory and compliance requirements of the department.
  • Ensure consistent and professional communication with our customer and associates at all times.
  • Manage projects and provide guidance when needed.
  • Develop Supervisors, section leaders and associates.
  • Monitor safety results and report as needed; assist in the development of safety-related countermeasures.
  • Anticipate potential problems and apply solutions and preventative measures.
  • Act as a role model for all associates in all aspects of the job (safety, production, quality, attendance, housekeeping, etc.).
  • Achieve daily production targets.
  • Continuously improving overall department content and activities.
  • Ensure all daily and monthly reports are completed on time.
  • Communicate effectively to peers and Assistant Manager.
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce safety policies.
  • Participate in and administer disciplinary actions.
  • Interview candidates.
  • Support and direct daily company production and projects.
