About The Position

The LifeLink Account s Coordinator handles billing and follow-up of all LifeLink claims involving insurance agencies as well as patient responsibility. This position is responsible for problem solving and finding resolutions which enable claims to get paid timely and accurately . The coordinator will provide excellent customer service and support in receiving, researching and resolving all inquiries related to LifeLink accounts, and will handle large volumes of correspondence from all payors and accurately resolve issues with minor supervision . This position will work closely with all payors to resolve appeals and find speedy resolution to denials . The Account s Coordinator is r esponsible for managing UKG scheduling and time and attendance daily and ensuring timecards are complete for payroll .

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 year s in a healthcare related claims or billing position .
  • Experience with ambulance transport billing rules , transport designation s, and medical necessity for ambulance transport.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely .
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction .
  • Ability to key data into medical computer system accurately .
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public .
  • Must be able to balance charges and payments to end of day reports.
  • Must have a thorough and demonstrated knowledge of all tasks related to pre-access and post-service, account resolution and customer service .
  • Requires basic computer skills and Windows experience.
  • General use of office equipment included but not limited to: keyboarding, telephone, calculator, fax machine, printer, and copier.
  • Requires working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT 4 coding guidelines and medical knowledge.
  • Requires the ability to work independently and a s team member.
  • Requires the ability to effectively communicate with medical staff, insurance carriers, patient as well as billing and coding staff.

Nice To Haves

  • EMT or EMT-P Certification preferred.
  • Work experience involving CPT coding and ICD-10 coding is highly preferred .
  • Understanding of Call Center processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology helpful
