About The Position

Under the director of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will be expected to perform the following duties at the Memorial pool.

Requirements

• NLS lifeguarding certification required
• Standard First Aid C certification required
• High School Diploma
• 1 Year Related Experience
• To work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
• Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.

Responsibilities

• Expected to open and close pool area depending on schedule worked.
• Perform setup and take down of equipment depending on upcoming daily events or pool usage.
• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in or around the pool.
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Maintain a clean and organized office, equipment room, and pool area.
• Assist with occasional administrative tasks.
