Job Summary The Pool Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests using the hotel pool facilities. This role involves monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing immediate assistance in emergencies. The Lifeguard plays a critical role in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests while promoting poolside activities and amenities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a hotel or recreational setting.
  • Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform rescues and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the pool area and guests to ensure safety and compliance with pool rules and regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including performing first aid and CPR when necessary.
  • Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area, including water quality and equipment functionality.
  • Enforce pool safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to guests regarding pool activities and amenities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including cleaning and tidying up surrounding spaces.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or guest concerns to the pool manager or supervisor.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests at the pool.
  • Assist with special events or activities at the pool as directed by management.
