About The Position

Lifeguard – Seasonal The City of Madison, SD is accepting applications for seasonal Lifeguard positions to work at our Madison Aquatic Center and Madison Community Center. This position maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, pool deck, and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for cleanliness of pool and pool areas while assisting in any janitorial duties as needed. This position would need to be alert and ready to act at all times and positively communicate information to patrons and staff in areas of safety practices, programs, events and rules. Knowledge of water safety and first aid is preferred. Hours of the seasonal lifeguard position would vary and would include afternoons, evenings and weekends and range from May-August. This position could work in hot, humid and cool weather temperatures. Must be 15 years of age and possess or be enrolled to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate and CPR and First Aid certificate upon one month of hire. Wage starts at $13.90 and is based on experience and if applicant has any certifications currently.
