About The Position

A variety of seasonal park positions may be available at Killens Pond Waterpark: Waterpark Captain: $18.25 - responsible for maintaining public relations and order in and around pool area. Assists with overall day to day operations of the water park. Assists Facility Manager with any customer service issues. Assist Facility Manager with wrist banding and check in’s. Waterpark Lieutenant: $17.75 - Assists with staff scheduling. Handles all customer complaints at Waterpark. Assists with overall day to day operations of the water park. Reports to management any emergency situations, complaints, or customer service needs. These seasonal positions are responsible for maintaining public relations and order in and around pool area. They enforce rules and regulations pertaining to pool and swimming activities. The incumbents inspect the condition of all rescue equipment including buoys, floats, ropes, medical supplies, and other safety equipment. Work is performed outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
  • Seasonal Waterpark Captain
  • Must be at least 16 years old to be a Lifeguard.
  • Must be a lifeguard with at least two years’ experience.
  • Experience of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others
  • Experience with interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Seasonal Waterpark Lieutenant
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be a lifeguard with at least one years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
  • Knowledge of interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Lifeguard Certification OR the applicant must agree as a requirement of employment to possess one prior to first day on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe water-based recreation for park.
  • Maintain constant watch over assigned pool area to prevent accidents.
  • Warn swimmers of hazards.
  • Maintain the water park area, to include trash and litter removal, and restroom cleaning.
  • Perform appropriate rescue and medical services as required.
  • Provide general customer service and park information to visitors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
