About The Position

Trap Pond was once the site of a large freshwater wetland and still hosts the country's northernmost natural stand of baldcypress trees. The pond was created in the late 1700s to power a sawmill used in harvesting the baldcypress. Click here to learn more about Trap Pond State Park. A seasonal park position is available at Trap Pond State Park: Boat House Attendant: Duties include handling money and record keeping while maintaining the functions of boat rental facility for the public. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled to meet facility needs.

Requirements

  • Experience working with money and making change.
  • Experience with record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • May operate boat rental facility.
  • Work around Trap Pond (water).
  • Assist with maintenance rental equipment.
  • Complete paperwork associated with sales and/or boat registration.
  • Collect appropriate rental fees.
  • May register campers into computer database and generate reports as needed.
  • May need experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Other duties are required.
