About The Position

This is protective services work at state park beaches with responsibility for the protection and safety of visitors at the swimming facilities. An important feature of this work is recognizing potential dangers and hazards that an individual may be placed in and correcting the situation to prevent an accident or drowning. Work is performed under immediate supervision with the incumbent applying clear rules and guidelines independently. Requirements

  • Sixteen (16) years of age
  • Successful completion of Lifeguard Competency Test
  • Possession of a current/valid Lifeguard Certification
  • Possession of a current/valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Possession of a current/valid First Aid Certification
  • Successful completion of the Lifeguard Academy
  • Applicants must be 16 or older
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or have legal authority to work in the U.S.
