About The Position

This position is for a Life Safety Technician, responsible for conducting above-ceiling inspections to identify and repair deficiencies related to fire barriers, electrical systems (missing cover boxes), fire alarms, and fire sprinklers. The role requires thorough documentation of inspections and repairs. The individual must be knowledgeable and self-motivated, capable of working with minimal direct supervision, and will perform work as assigned by the Life Safety Supervisor.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable and self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Proof of enrollment in or completion of a post-secondary or vocational program may also be accepted.
• Competent in or knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction to include: fire wall construction, fire proofing installation, fire stop systems, and fire sprinkler requirements, fire alarm systems, etc.
• Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and The Joint Commission Standards.
• Must have a valid and current state issued driver’s license.
• Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence.
• Clearance of driving record check. Driving records shall not contain any of the following within the past 3 years (see policy): 3 or more moving violations, 2 or more accidents, 1 major violation.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience preferred, or related field.
• NFPA 101 and NFPA 99 training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Above ceiling inspections, to include identifying and repairing fire barrier penetrations, electrical deficiencies (missing cover boxes), fire alarm and fire sprinkler deficiencies, etc.
• Documentation for completing inspections and repairs is required.
• Perform work as assigned by Life Safety Supervisor.
