The Life Safety Specialist will report to the VP Quality & Regulatory Affairs and has primary responsibility for assessing and monitoring Life Safety Code (LSC) related issues. Success in this role requires active knowledge and utilization of Life Safety Code and Health Care Facilities Code (NFPA 101 and 99), effective workflow and workload management, and working knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements with a focus on timeliness, thoroughness, and accuracy. The incumbent will conduct Life Safety Code assessments/building inspections for healthcare buildings, perform audits including fire safety evaluation systems, Joint Commission's Physical Environment compliance reviews, and Life Safety Building Maintenance Programs. They will ensure compliance with the Life Safety Code and applicable reference manuals, provide life safety training to employees, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Life Safety and Building Codes, CMS, and contracted-state regulatory standards. Collaboration with Quality & Regulatory leadership, CMS, and State Regulatory Compliance is essential to ensure ongoing compliance. The role demands strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to adapt quickly to changes in scope or direction.
