About The Position

Introduction Licensing & Registration Service Center Supervisor Open to current DNR LRS employees ONLY GRADE 15 LOCATION OF POSITION Solomons, Maryland (Calvert County) Main Purpose of Job Under managerial supervision, this position functions as the Industry Liaison in Public Services, assisting with the management of boat dealers and sport licensing agents, acting as second-in-command for the Licensing & Registration Center Manager and serving as a front line connection between the Department and the constituency it serves. Public Services is responsible for (1) sport hunting and fishing license sales, (2) vessel registration, titling and excise tax collection, (3) commercial tidal fish license renewals and transfers, (4) the issuance of off-road vehicle permits, and (5) the licensing and monitoring of boat dealers and sport license agents. A Licensing and Registration Center Supervisor functions as the Supervisor at the service center, assisting with the management of boat dealers and sport licensing agents, acting as second-in-command for the Licensing & Registration Center Manager and serving as a front-line connection between the Department and the constituency it serves. Employees in this classification supervise lower-level Licensing and Registration Technicians.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Four years of experience involving titling and registering boats and issuing hunting and fishing licenses and permits.
  • Candidates may substitute additional experience involving titling and registering boats and issuing hunting and fishing licenses and permits on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Compliance Inspection and Support classifications or Compliance Inspection and Support specialty codes in the Inspection, Investigation, Enforcement, and Compliance field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
