The Licensing Coordinator/Treatment Coordinator will split time between assisting current and future foster parents to ensure all training and documentation is completed for proper licensing and working with the youth, families, and treatment team to ensure the achievement of treatment plans and improvement goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related behavioral science field.
  • Experienced in foster home licensing and/or child welfare.
  • Florida Child Welfare Certification in licensing required.
  • Must be willing to obtain car insurance requirements of 100,000/300,000 bodily injury.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

  • Willing to travel as required
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as required.

Responsibilities

  • Licensing Coordinator Responsible for the knowledge and implementation of all rules, regulations, and policies related to foster home licensure.
  • Develop and license homes that meet the needs of children referred.
  • Completes all foster home licensing functions in the required timeframes in accordance with policies.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that generate the quantity and quality of inquiries for viable licensed foster homes.
  • Assist potential foster parents in understanding the needs of the youth entering foster care, the expectation of mentoring primary families and the goal of reunification of youth with the primary family.
  • Work with current, former, and prospective foster parents to recruit new foster families.
  • Quickly contact all foster home inquiries.
  • Complete meetings with each potential family within the first two weeks to answer questions and assist in the licensing process.
  • Assist all potential and existing foster families in providing all required information and completing required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Meet with foster parents experiencing difficulty in the licensing process to remove barriers.
  • Develop a comprehensive home study for each potential and existing family and submit for approval.
  • Maintain and update all foster home records in appropriate systems.
  • Provide ongoing training to licensed foster homes.
  • Support foster parents including providing information, education, meetings, support groups, and one on one discussions.
  • Travels to provide community-based services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
  • Maintain willingness to work flexible le and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and intern al customers.
  • Treatment Coordinator Dedicate a minimum of 50% of time in direct service of youth and families.
  • Support appropriate placement and/or services as needed.
  • Complete all required documents in a timely manner as per agency protocol.
  • Develop and regularly review youth Treatment and/or Service Plans with the client, caregiver(s), referring agency, caseworker, significant family member(s), and natural support per established program procedure/protocol.
  • Maintain youth contact including face to face interaction per COA, state, and local contract requirements.
  • Maintain caregiver contact including home visits per COA, state, and local contract requirements.
  • Assist in family reunification efforts with the youth’s primary family or other permanent living arrangement consistent with the youth’s case plan.
  • Report foster home licensing and compliance requirement issues when working in the Foster Care Program.
  • Follow agency procedures for after-hours and weekend emergency coverage.
  • Respond directly to emergencies and crises with youths as deemed appropriate or as necessary to ensure safety and stability.
  • Serve as a liaison between NYAP and referring agency caseworkers and probation officers regarding the youth’s services.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of NYAP.
