About The Position

Position Summary The Nurse role is responsible for ensuring all Affiliated AMIkids Program clients receive the proper medical treatment as dictated by Rule 63M-2 F. A. C. The Nurse is responsible for sick call, routine medical care including episodic care, admission required screenings, medical records upkeep, communication with offsite medical providers, transportation when required, training for program staff, routine emergency drills, and monitoring of all clients’ medical and dental needs. Flexible part-time PRN Schedule : Weekday coverage, between 8am - 5pm

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing (LPN, LVN)
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience
  • Possess a valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general nursing necessary to treatment of youth
  • Serve as a positive role model for assigned youth
  • Conduct daily sick call(s)
  • Supervise the administration of all medication, as permitted by license
  • Supervise all medication procurement and storage
  • Ensure follow-up instructions from all off-campus treatments are followed as scheduled
  • Meet with RN daily to obtain pertinent data for continuous medical care and update nurse’s notes in the medical records
  • Conduct health education classes for all youth
  • Assist youth in carrying out activities of daily living, when congruent with the treatment plan and needs, age and developmental level
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for youth
  • Transport youth to medical appointments; document visits in medical records and charts and nurse’s notes
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization
  • Attend required training/professional development events and maintain appropriate certification(s) and license(s)
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
