About The Position

The Behavioral Health Therapist is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is key member of the healthcare team working with patients and their families to help manage the difficulties of substance use and behavioral health. The therapist utilizes therapeutic skills to assess patients for psycho-social and economic barriers that interfere with the attainment of their healthcare goals. The therapist works closely with care managers, physicians, nursing staff, and spiritual support for patients and families with counseling services, crisis intervention, patient and parent/spouse coping, bereavement, and substance use issues for continuity of care within the AdventHealth System. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Requirements

Master's Required
1 year Work Experience Required
Clinical Social Worker License (LCSW) Required Or
Lic Professional Counselor (LPC) Required Or
Licn Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Required Or
Licn Marriage/Fam Therapist (LMFT) Required Or
Lic Masters Level Psychologist (LMLP) Required Or
Licensed Clin Psychotherapist (LCP) Required Or
Lic Prof Counselor Assoc (LPCA) Required Or
Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) Required Or
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) Required And
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required

Responsibilities

Participates with the interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing a clinical treatment plan.
Follows up with patients in post-acute environments to ensure compliance with discharge plans post-hospitalization.
Performs intake and psycho-social assessments on patients and families and provides psychotherapy to patients and families coping with substance use and behavioral health disorders.
Facilitates age-appropriate therapeutic groups and provides family therapy as indicated for patients.
