About The Position

Join Our Team as a Therapist at Spectrum Juvenile Justice Services! Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? As a Therapist at Spectrum Juvenile Justice Services, you will be a vital part of our mental health Treatment Team, providing direct therapeutic and casework services to youth ages 11 to 20 in our highly secure juvenile justice facility in Highland Park, Michigan. Using our innovative Forward Focus Treatment Model, you will offer clinical insight, direction, and support. In this role, you will work closely with the young people in our care and supervise a dedicated team of case managers and direct care workers. Spectrum Juvenile Justice Services utilizes the Forward Focused Treatment Model©, the first evidence-based clinical treatment program developed for adolescents with serious offending behaviors. Our cognitive-behavioral treatment model is based on current research in adolescent brain development and juvenile justice treatment, including trauma-focused assessment and treatment. Using a multimodal and multi-pronged approach, we guide treatment with a developmentally informed conceptualization of each youth’s risks and needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work.
• Michigan licensure as a master’s level clinician (LLPC/LPC, LLMSW/LMSW, TLLP/LLP).
• Successful completion of the background screening process.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of postgraduate experience in direct treatment services, including residential treatment, casework, group work, and behavior modification (preferred).
• Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic and casework services to youth.
• Offer clinical insight, direction, and support using the Forward Focus Treatment Model.
• Supervise a team of case managers and direct care workers.
• Engage with youth and their families to foster positive outcomes.
