Requirements

Master’s degree with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field, plus a minimum of two years of related experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, required.
BCBA certification required.
New Jersey licensure in behavior analysis is required.

Nice To Haves

A PhD in a related discipline is desirable.
Prior experience in functional assessment and treatment development is highly preferred.
Prior management experience is also preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages, oversees, and conducts skills assessments in accordance with the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Ensures that goals are person-centered, functionally relevant, observable, measurable, and regularly monitored for progress, mastery, and troubleshooting if progress is not being made.
Manages, oversees, and conducts behavior assessments, including functional assessment / experimental analysis, preference assessments, and treatment evaluations, to assess and treat problem behavior. Ensures the development of least restrictive, function-based treatments to decrease problem behavior while identifying and promoting functionally appropriate replacement behaviors and increasing other adaptive living skills.
Authors and supervises all behavior plans, including behavior plans with level III interventions.
Conducts all assessments and treatments per professional best practice, Bancroft policies, and the BACB’s Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts.
Only delegates eligible tasks to Behavior Support Specialists or team members in accordance with NJ Behavior Analyst Licensure regulations. Identifies training needs of program staff members, and ensures that those needs are met. Develops and conducts training sessions to ensure staff members' ongoing knowledge and ability to implement behavior plans effectively. Monitors and evaluates the implementation of behavior plans by program staff members to ensure overall plan integrity and effectiveness and to identify if further training is required. Ensures treatment integrity is monitored according to established Bancroft guidelines, which include direct monitoring and documentation of integrity through the completion of treatment integrity checks.
Depending on the program supported, provides on-call support for behavioral and/or staffing crises. Acts as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) for the program for the authorization of emergency restraints and other on-call responsibilities as needed to support the program in managing behavioral emergencies.
Serves as a behavior analysis expert to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and other programs, as needed. Provides direction to staff both within and across programs regarding the development and implementation of the ISP for individuals supported and has the authority to override the ISP and behavior plan, as necessary.
Provides professional guidance and expertise to the organization by serving as an active member of the Behavior Management Committee (BMC) as needed and assigned. Oversees the proper presentation of behavior intervention plans and emergency restraint data for the program to BMC or relevant committees. Ensures that the Committee’s or reviewer’s recommendations are addressed by the IDT or program. Completes out-of-committee reviews and observations, as assigned. Presents to the Human Rights Committee (HRC) as needed.
Provides group and individual supervision to BCBA and BCaBA candidates as needed. Completes supervision modules through the BACB and maintains updated supervision qualifications. Supervises RBT®s as needed.
Depending upon the program supported, conducts or oversees team screening evaluations and intake assessments. Provides direction and clinical expertise in facilitating transfers and transitions of individuals supported internally and externally, as necessary.
Coordinates and leads clinical case review meetings (rounds) and ensures proper data review and discussion of individuals’ supported clinical needs.
Actively participates in performance management committees, as assigned, and assists in developing and implementing performance improvement systems to ensure an overall efficient and cost-effective operation within and across programs.
Participates in the development and implementation of clinical training regarding general behavior analytic principles and procedures to ensure the ongoing education of program staff. Serves as meeting facilitator by arranging meeting logistics, distributing materials, and ensuring key individuals attend.
In collaboration with the Senior Clinical Director and/or Clinical Director, oversees the daily clinical operations of the program and provides supervision, oversight, and specific delegation to Behavior Support Specialists within the following areas of responsibility: The development and implementation of the ISP and behavior intervention plans for individuals supported, including attendance and active participation in all related meetings In collaboration with the program leaders, conducts regular staff meetings or training to promote an open discussion and knowledge sharing. Attends management meetings and conferences/workshops, to obtain and share information; Delegates and supervises work responsibilities and tasks as appropriate, ensuring licensure delegation standards are maintained. Supports the professional development and career growth of program staff by identifying and providing ongoing training in accordance with state licensing regulations and any accreditation standards.
Maintains awareness of current best practices in applied behavior analysis. Ensures proper training on changing methods and techniques to ensure the provision of quality program care. Continually monitors treatment gains for generality in other settings and care providers.
Actively participates in professional development activities, including scholarly presentations and research activities.
In collaboration with program management, ensures program and staff operate in compliance with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, DDD Community Care Waiver and Supports Program manual standards (if applicable), Department of Labor (DOL) regulations (if applicable), Department of Human Services regulations (if applicable), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards (if applicable), Department of Education (DOE), and Department of Children and Families (DCF), and other applicable state/local/federal regulations at all times.
Follows state-approved emergency procedures and Bancroft-approved crisis prevention/intervention techniques at all times.
Prepares for, and promptly responds to, emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the program site and individuals supported at all times; e.g., participates in fire drills, emergency evacuations, etc. Notifies the proper authority in the event of a valid emergency.
Serves as a role model to individuals we support by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
Maintains effective communication with individuals supported, parents, guardians and other family members, healthcare personnel, external case managers, administration and coworkers across programs and functions, etc. Operates and communicates in accordance with Bancroft and program specific policies and procedures.
